Kiev political scientist admitted that Ukraine missed its chance in Donbass
There will be pressure on Ukraine to force it to comply with the political part of the Minsk agreements, but this will cause a revolt even in the presidential Servant of the People party.
The head of the Kyiv center “Third Sector”, political scientist Andrei Zolotarev, said this in a conversation on the First Independent channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that Biden emphasizes that there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements suggests that we will be strongly pushed to implement the political part of the Minsk agreements. How the current government will try to do this is another matter. This is a mystery to me. In my opinion, this will cause a rebellion even among the “servants of the people,” says Zolotarev.
“Everything is good when done in due time. If in 2015 we had taken a serious approach to the implementation of the Minsk agreements in the political part, changed the internal, humanitarian policy that is tearing the country apart, the military rhetoric... Sitting down at the table and agreeing on something with people who call you terrorists and Russian mercenaries... Alas , we simply missed the moment when we could not even carry out Minsk, but go for the “Transnistrianization” of the conflict - yes, politically we are different, but the economy is the same. And this would preserve the chance for Donbass to reintegrate after a while,” Zolotarev said.
