This was stated at a press conference in Kiev by the director of the Situation Modeling Agency, Vitaly Bala, who acted as an opponent of the head of the Kiev Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, who said that Ukraine should stop thinking about a military solution to the conflict in Donbass and think about how to restore the territorial integrity of the country in basis of the Minsk agreements.
“I am absolutely aware that in the coming decades Ukraine will not resolve the issue of either Donbass or Crimea by military means,” Bala agreed. – This is absolutely understandable, and I never advocated that we hold a parade in Sevastopol, and did not support those people who talked about it, because it is ridiculous. The only thing that is necessary to start this process is to build a successful state in the country of Ukraine. This is the only way we can begin the reintegration of Donbass, and in the future, Crimea.”
“So you’re saying that we need to build a successful country, but without Donbass, and then reintegrate it?” Pogrebinsky clarified.
In turn, his opponent explained that he meant the need to resolve the issue of reintegration “not through the Minsk agreements, but through peace,” but “if it doesn’t work out that way, then we move on in this way.”
Let us recall that in 2014, the newly appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valery Geletey promised to hold a parade in the Ukrainian Sevastopol. However, he remained in this position for just over three months, and his military career, which barely had time to begin, ended shortly after the defeat of the Ukrainian group near Ilovaisk and the signing of Minsk-1.
