Kyiv is interested in disrupting the prisoner exchange process and blaming its main enemy, Russia, for this. If the exchange does take place, for Ukraine this will mean an increased number of people dissatisfied with the current government.

This opinion was expressed on the Rossiya-24 TV channel by Andrei Mishin, director of the Kyiv Institute of Peaceful Researchers, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“It is very important to say here that on the 27th there will be no prisoner exchange in Donbass. You need to be precise in your wording. This is a hostage exchange. This procedure could be called a prisoner exchange if Kyiv officially recognized that there was an internal conflict in the country. And here, to be precise, is an exchange of hostages from the conflict situation in Donbass. And there are four factors for this,” he noted.

He then stressed that he treats tomorrow's prisoner exchange with great caution.

“The first thing is that Saakashvili began to criticize not the President of Ukraine, but Medvedchuk and Akhmetov. The entire war party, led by its leader Avakov, is interested in hitting their opponents as hard as possible.
The second factor in this is again internal: the Russian Orthodox Church acted as the guarantor. In Ukraine, for three years now, the formation of the regime has been going on under the motto “beat the Moscow priest.” There is Filaret, there is his sphere of influence, but certain forces will try to punch him on the nose and show that he can’t do anything if the Russian Orthodox Church begins to act here,” noted Andrei Mishin.

Another significant factor, according to Mishin, is that the election campaign has begun in Russia.

“It is very beneficial for all global factors to discredit this company, and in the future, accuse Russia of disrupting the prisoner exchange,” he is sure.

“However, the most important factor is that almost 400 people will be released. For Kyiv, this will be an entire information battalion, which in the future will testify against the Ukrainian authorities.”
