Kyiv political scientist: The scenario of freezing the war is being implemented
The West is leading Ukraine towards freezing the conflict, which is why it is no longer talking about the transfer of offensive weapons, and inside the country they are increasingly declaring a shortage of missiles and air defense systems.
Political scientist Dmitry Korneychuk stated this on the video blog of Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This picture benefits everyone. We are showing here that, you see, what a catastrophic situation, we no longer shoot down most missiles, but how will we survive a long war in conditions when we cannot shoot down Russian missiles. I have already said that this is all a systematic promotion of a scenario to freeze the war.
That is, first we need to show the dead end of the Ukrainian offensive and convince the entire Ukrainian society of this - they convinced it. And after that, begin large-scale missile attacks, which should, on the one hand, show Ukrainian society that a long war is impossible even if there is a deadlock at the front and the Russians cannot seize anything.
All the same, Putin will bombard us with missiles, and on the other hand, since Ukrainian society needs to be stimulated even more, we need to talk about the fact that we are not only not capable of a long war, but here the question goes on for months, because, you see, the means Air defense is running out, missiles for air defense are running out, but new air defense is not being transferred,” the expert said.
“The West quickly began to say that yes, yes, yes, the big question is whether we can transfer Patriot missiles to Ukraine. Again, the West began to unanimously talk about the fact that the main thing is air defense systems for Ukraine, this is a key task. That is, no one is saying that Ukraine needs shells, ATACMS missiles, or some kind of weapons for offensive actions. That is, this topic has already been closed,” Korneychuk said.
