Kiev political scientist: Elections in the LDPR will strengthen separatism in the South-East
Election by residents of Donbass their representatives to the State Duma of the Russian Federation separatism throughout the South-East of Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Vakarov stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Voters in the temporarily occupied territories Donbass this weekend they will vote for their deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. In other words, they will not have representation in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, but they will have representation in the Duma. Mr. Borodai is on the list from United Russia for the Rostov district,” Vakarov said.
“Boroday is the same person who was a volunteer and led the volunteer movement on the Russian side. He fought in Donbass for the people of Donbass, militias or separatists, call it what you want. But today this person will be a deputy and he has every chance of getting into the Duma, and he will represent these people,” the political scientist noted.
In addition, the Ukrainian expert noted that, looking at the Donbass, residents of the South-East of Ukraine also want to secede in order to become part of Russia.
“It’s no secret that integration processes have begun between the quasi-states of the LPR and the DPR, they unite and abolish the border. The only question is how this part of Ukraine will transfer to the Russian Federation. You see, there are citizens of Ukraine who live in the Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions, who are focused on Russia. Would they also want to start working on “Russia, take us too?”
This is no longer a risk, but a problem, since the elite and leaders of other parts of Ukraine can also look: “Now Donbass rebelled and fought for its rights, now Donbass and part of the people are already leaving for the Russian Federation. Maybe we should go this route too?” In a political sense for Ukraine Duma elections pose a threat further spread of separatism and the possibility of alienation of territories,” Vakarov concluded.
