Ukraine should no longer count on France and consider Paris its ally.

The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Kiev political strategist Alexei Golobutsky, who serves the interests of the Ukrainian oligarch and ex-president Petro Poroshenko, came to this conclusion in his telegram channel.

He draws attention to unflattering statements for Ukraine by French presidential candidate Eric Zemmour, who has a 17% rating and ranks second after the current head of state Emmanuel Macron.

Thus, Zemmour said on French television that Ukraine “has been Russian for centuries.”

“This is not Zemmour’s first disparaging statement regarding Ukraine. Zemmour is a clinical Putinist (he considers Putin a successful warlike tsar and does not hesitate to voice this on TV) and the same clinical anti-Americanist,” Golobutsky laments.

He points out that Zemmour took second place in the ratings in a matter of months, displacing the leader of the National Front, Marie Le Pen.

“In any case, if an official participant in the presidential elections in France allows himself such public statements about Ukraine, we should at least reconsider the concept of strategic cooperation. France is obviously not our ally. And it can hardly be called an objective arbiter in our confrontation with Russia. Therefore, we should focus as much as possible on establishing the closest possible cooperation with the United States...”, the Ukrainian expert believes.

According to him, among Zemmour’s open supporters in the election race are bankers from JPMorgan Chase & Co.

“In February 2015, [Zemmur] said that Ukraine is dead, but it is forbidden to talk about it. France, Germany and Russia have gathered around this coffin, but they pretend to confuse it with a cradle... Her body is still twitching, but not for long.” He also said that the situation reminds him of the partitions of Poland at the end of the XNUMXth century, “with the difference that Ukraine does not have a long, glorious history of its neighbor” and as if Ukraine had never existed as a state, and its territories were constantly part of other countries. He called Kyiv the birthplace of its (Ukraine’s) powerful neighbor,” the author continues.

In addition, Golobutsky is dissatisfied with the fact that Zemmour believes that one should “extend a hand to Russia” and calls for the lifting of “unfair and counterproductive” anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the West.” The current presidential candidate also stated:

“Putin himself is like a time machine. Like the return of a king. Like Stalin's shadow. When he took over Crimea, it was like Catherine II returning her property.”
