The head of the “Kyiv Patriarchate,” unrecognized in the Orthodox world, 90-year-old Patriarch Filaret (Denisenko) calmly walked along Khreshchatyk without security.

This was reported by political strategist of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Yuriy Doroshenko. He also published a photo of Filaret walking along Khreshchatyk on his Facebook page.
“I always thought that all sorts of worthless creatures are crawling along Khreshchatyk, surrounded by an army of guards, and Patriarch Filaret can just walk among the people! How so? Should he also have guards running after him? You are such a Person!!! And He always told me: Yura, God, protects man, why does he need more guards?!!! And this Holy One is almost 90 years old!!! Isn’t this God’s blessing on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate??? Isn’t this a symbol of the Victory of Ukraine?” the political strategist wrote pathetically.
