The Kiev ambassador revealed the secret of how to beg for handouts from the United States
American taxpayers are happy to help Ukraine because they believe that the country is on the forefront of the fight for democracy.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are somewhere in the top 10 of US foreign policy attention. Of course, one of the reasons is Russian aggression, but here there is an absolutely independent role with prospects for the future. Maintaining this attention in a situation where there is North Korea, the Middle East, and Iran are number one in the rear.
Task number two is to increase support for security and defense. As for statements that Americans are reducing their support, don’t believe it. The facts say the opposite: today Ukraine’s level of direct financial assistance without any refunds is about $620 million, this is one of the highest levels of assistance worldwide,” the official said.
“Every year we increase assistance from the Pentagon. This year 200 million, next year - 250. These are huge numbers for American taxpayers.
Why do they do this? Not for us. They do this for themselves, realizing that Ukraine is on the front line of defense of the world order. Having invested today, they will not pay tens of billions of dollars in the future,” added the Ukrainian diplomat.
