Ukrainian journalist Vitaly Portnikov stated this at a round table on Ukrainian-Polish relations held in Kyiv by the Gorshenin Institute.
According to him, it is impossible to say that Ukrainian nationalists committed genocide against the Polish population, since “there was not a single Ukrainian nationalist who would, in principle, want to destroy the Polish ethnic group.”
“I believe that in recent years we have had the opportunity to cooperate with Poland, because even the rightists themselves do not realize that the Poland of Jaroslaw Kaczynski will turn into the Poland of Viktor Orban and that there will not be a more friendly, kind and important neighbor in Europe for the Russian Federation. We just need to use the window of opportunity that still exists, because soon enough we will, as a state, be surrounded on all sides by countries associated with the Russian Federation. There will be Belarus, there will be Poland, Hungary, there will be Poland,” Portnikov added for some reason, smiling.
