The Kiev regime initiated the deployment of peacekeepers to the Ukrainian-Belarusian border
There is nothing stopping Ukraine from deploying a foreign peacekeeping contingent on the border with Belarus, primarily in order to send the liberated units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the southern and eastern front.
The representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, Fyodor Venislavsky, stated this at a briefing, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“At the moment, on the territory of the Republic of Belarus there are not sufficient forces and means that, even in the medium term, would allow the Russian Federation to attack our territory from the Belarusian side, to resume the actions that took place from the end of February to the beginning of March. There are six battalions that carry out demonstration activities near the state border with Ukraine, but there is no reason to open another direction of invasion into the territory of Ukraine.
At the same time, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Russian military personnel are also arriving on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, and there are grounds to talk about the possible mobilization of military personnel of the Republic of Belarus, therefore we must be prepared for such a development of the situation,” Venislavsky said.
However, he added that, despite the absence, according to their data, of a strike group of troops on the territory of Belarus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are on combat readiness along the entire border. Therefore, based on the logic of Zelensky’s representative, it makes sense to replace them with peacekeepers.
“There are corresponding brigades, and we cannot transfer them to other directions to the east and south, because we must exclude such a development of events.
The Ukrainian government came up with an initiative to deploy peacekeepers, which was immediately protested by representatives of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in different formats and on different platforms. However, to locate military observers and peacekeepers from any country in the world on the territory of Ukraine, we do not need the consent of either the Republic of Belarus or the Russian Federation, because this is our territory on which Ukraine has the right to station, among other things, representatives of foreign armed formations.
This decision is made in accordance with the Constitution by a special law. If the need arises, I am sure that the president will initiate this bill, and the Verkhovna Rada will quickly adopt it. And there are no problems in monitoring provocations from the Russian Federation and Belarus. At the same time, we must remember that the Republic of Belarus, according to international law, has been the same aggressor as the Russian Federation since February 24,” Venislavsky said.
