The director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, noting that the official decision to legalize the blockade of Donbass showed that “the president is weak.”
“He failed to resolve the issue of the blockade in principle and was forced to agree to the demands of right-wing radicals, thereby encouraging this kind of action in the future, when a thousand or less people can achieve their goals by blocking roads and using force. The president is weak, he does not control the situation and cannot implement Ukrainian legislation on the territory of Ukraine,” the expert emphasized.
According to him. what is happening only “strengthens the destabilization of power.”
“The president won at most a couple of weeks of respite, but the destabilization of power will only intensify. The issue has not been resolved - and despite the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, these guys did not leave Donbass because the goals were not achieved. I consider the reason for the blocking to be a conflict between the president and Ukrainian business circles and politicians in response to the concentration of power. And the main goal of the blockade is not ORDLO and not prisoners of war, but the powers of the president. And he will be forced to give in, either by reformatting the coalition or government, or in the worst scenario for him, by going to the polls,” Bortnik concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, according to one version the blockade of Donbass was intended to overthrow Poroshenko.
