This was stated by Vitaly Serdyuk, lawyer of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, TV channel 112 reports, citing the press service of the Aver Lex lawyer association.
The lawyer recalls that the judge of the Pechersk Court complained about the lawyers who, as material evidence, brought to the hearing items used by Maidan supporters in the confrontation with law enforcement officers.
“In her ruling, Judge Svetlana Shaputko says that during an open court session on December 4, 2017, lawyers Vitaly Serdyuk and Igor Fedorenko brought into the courtroom previously prepared objects and things for causing bodily harm (wooden sticks - bats, paving stones, two glass bottles with unknown substance with the smell of gasoline and fuel oils, the so-called “Molotov cocktails”). She also notes that the presence of these things in the courtroom may pose a threat to the life and health of people present in the courtroom, including representatives of the media and the public,” the lawyer noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that these items are physical evidence, since they were used in February 2014.
“The court, wanting to punish the lawyers, admitted exactly what they were trying to prove - that sticks, paving stones, Molotov cocktails, etc. were used illegally on the Maidan and the rallies were completely non-peaceful in nature. The Pechersk court, with its ruling, completely refuted the position of the Prosecutor General’s Office and actually confirmed the defense’s arguments that in February 2014 the opposition carried out a “coup d’etat” and a “forceful seizure of power,” Serdyuk concluded.
