A Kiev volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “in search of the truth” beat up an employee of a garage cooperative
At the beginning of November last year, a woman turned to a native of Gorlovka, who was volunteering in Kyiv, for help. Her ex-husband's garage was sold, as she believed, illegally, because she received nothing from this transaction. And since their relationship was already broken off, officially, through the court, she would not have achieved anything. It is for such complicated matters in our troubled times that “volunteers” exist, she thought.

And then a car drove up to the gate of the garage cooperative. A woman and two men came out, and one of them, introducing himself as a journalist, began to demand first “the most important boss,” and then, when he came to the deputy director of the cooperative, for some reason he demanded from him the charter of the cooperative. Moreover, the remark that they could not provide him with this document right now only added fuel to the fire. Our “journalist” became hysterical, alternately threatening with video recording, which was conducted by his employer, and with physical violence.
In the end, the deputy director of the cooperative, who realized that the person in front of him was in an inadequate state, got tired of arguing, and he headed towards the security post. The “volunteer” blocked the way, and when the man tried to move him away, he hit him.
Of course, the “volunteer” expected that he would “frighten” his counterpart. However, if such tactics bring results in the offices of officials, in our case they only led to the dock.
The court sentenced the “volunteer” to a fine of one and a half thousand hryvnia for causing minor bodily harm and payment of moral damages to the victim in the amount of seven thousand hryvnia.
The only surprise is that the court did not consider fraud as part of the crime. Indeed, besides the fact that the person involved, without any reason, introduced himself as a journalist, the profession of “volunteer”, “civil activist”, “patriot”, etc. does not exist at all.
