Ukrainian courts are afraid to issue acquittals, seriously lagging behind the Russian Federation in this indicator.

Ukrainian lawyer Alexander Klimchuk said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The courts are afraid to issue acquittals. In connection with the new Code of Criminal Procedure, they began to be sentenced more often, since the law says: either acquit or condemn. Such statistics, when we say that in an autocratic state, in the Russian Federation, there are 10 percent [of acquittals], and in Ukraine - one or two - this is somehow wrong,” said the Ukrainian lawyer.
