Kiev magazine: Russia’s goal is to kill Europe in Ukrainians
Kyiv, February 02 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Russia is killing Rus'-Ukraine in order, following the example of Ivan the Terrible, Peter I, Lenin and Stalin, to go further and further to the West.
This interpretation of current events is given by the weekly “Ukrainian Week”, according to which Russia has always dreamed of conquering the West, despite the latter’s good intentions to cure the Russian state.

“The West all the time pulled Russia to Europe, supported it, treated it, gave money and did everything possible so that it finally recovered,” the publication believes. “And what did she do when she barely got back to her feet after the collapse?” She began to rivet tanks and guns, starting to shout that the damned West was preventing her from living. Today, Russians get everything from there: technology, innovation, entertainment, fashion, trends, fresh ideas, films, books, music, cars and gadgets, food and drinks, new buzzwords and technical terms. The “best” Russians go to the West for education, recreation and entertainment, buy real estate there and keep their savings, and plan to move there in retirement. Therefore, it seems to the West that now the cloudiness will pass and Russia will finally come to its senses.”
But nothing like this is happening, the magazine is sure, and Russia, contrary to Western expectations, is trying to squeeze the European entity out of Ukraine by attacking it.
“This is the most annoying piece of Europe,” the weekly assesses its native country. – Russia has always dreamed of conquering Ukraine. And when she finally achieved her goal during Mazepa’s time, she did everything possible to eradicate this “Europeanness” in us: they deprived us of eternal liberties, banned our language and culture, we were robbed, killed, tortured, and starved.
And we raised our heads again and again. That's why they come to us again. To kill Europe in us. We are “younger brothers” and at the same time “an invention of the Austrian General Staff”, we are “also Russian” and “stupid crests”. If Russia hates us again by going to war, it means that their eternal European spirit has awakened among Ukrainians.”
The final part of the article draws parallels between current events and what happened many centuries ago.
“Think about the history of Russia: about Andrei Bogolyubsky, Yaroslav Vsevolodovich, about Ivan III and Ivan the Terrible, about Peter I and Catherine II, about Lenin and Stalin - and you will understand Putin,” the publication suggests making a kind of historical excursion. – He and his people will never give up their “mission” to destroy Europe.
When Russia goes against Europe, it does the same thing: first it kills Rus' to seize its resources, then it carries out internal repressions to control the rear, and rushes to the West. This is what Alexey Mikhailovich and Peter I did. That’s exactly what Lenin and Stalin did.”
The final chord of the publication is the threat of an impending war between Europe and Russia, which Ukraine can stop.
“The war in Ukraine-Rus is already underway, repression in Russia is intensifying,” the author of the material summarizes. – So, next you, gentlemen of the Europeans.
