Kyiv, March 29 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Despite the apparent stupidity, the reforms that the West demands from Ukraine should help the country cease to be “sub-Russia,” writes the Ukrainian Week weekly.

“No matter how stupid, half-hearted and compromise the reforms that Europe, together with the United States and the IMF, demand from us may seem, the public will have to insist on their speedy implementation not because they will ensure the flow of assistance from abroad (more precisely, not only because) and above all, because they can temporarily shake the orderly system of converting power into money, which has reigned in Ukraine since the middle of the decade before last,” the magazine emphasizes.
At the same time, the publication admits that, contrary to expectations, the Maidan was unable to break this vicious system.
“Of course, everyone hoped that this would happen by itself as a result of the Revolution of Dignity, but miracles do not happen,” sums up Ukrainian Week. – The process of separating politics and business is apparently the most difficult task of the current moment. But without this, Ukraine does not have the slightest chance of ceasing to be sub-Russia and finally becoming Ukraine.”
