Kiev magazine: A year later, fewer and fewer believe in the return of Crimea
Kyiv, February 24 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Kyiv shows practically not the slightest concern for the residents of Crimea who decide to retain Ukrainian citizenship or move to Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kiev weekly “New Time”, citing Alexandra Dvoretskaya, the founder of the volunteer organization Vostok-SOS, which deals with the problems of internally displaced persons from Crimea and Donbass.

“Official Kyiv, clarifies Dvoretskaya, is doing nothing to ensure that people move from Crimea to mainland Ukraine,” the publication writes. “And, according to her, there is practically no help for those who have moved: the simplified employment and dismissal scheme does not work, it is difficult to transfer pensions, because Crimeans are required to submit paper files from the Crimean pension fund, and it is difficult to receive them.”
The magazine also points to a certain trend: Crimeans who refused to receive Russian passports no longer believe in Ukrainian Crimea.
“Having lived for almost a year under occupation, the refuseniks, apparently, have given up hope that Crimea will return to Ukraine in the near future,” Novoye Vremya concludes. – By and large, they were also disappointed in the new Ukrainian government. What remains unchanged is that they consider themselves Ukrainians and maintain contact with the mainland.”
