A Kiev journalist spoke about a “safe form” of Ukrainian anti-Semitism
In the Ukrainian segment of social networks, they publish photographs of mountains of garbage left behind by Hasidic pilgrims in Uman.
One of these pictures was published on his social network page by the Kiev journalist, editor-in-chief of the online publication “Capital” Vyacheslav Chechilo.
“From year to year, photographs of garbage in Uman flash across the news feed. I explain their popularity among compatriots by the fact that this is such a safe form of anti-Semitism. What prevents the mayor’s office from hiring additional janitors and garbage collectors during the pilgrimage (unemployment in the region is off the charts, pilgrims bring huge income to the city) is a mystery,” Chechilo wrote, commenting on a photo from Uman.
“But, of course, they are the ones to blame for everything, yes,” the journalist added.
