“Over the 30 years of independent existence, we have attempted national revival, but what to revive? Ukraine did not have a “golden age” that we could repeat. There has never been a “golden age” in the history of Ukraine. For it to exist, additional efforts were needed to strengthen its elite layer, an elite group that is interesting to itself, and then it is interesting to Ukraine.
We have had a communications revolution, but it has greatly intensified this problem and alienated us even further. We didn’t have these national cultural authorities, and now she has alienated them altogether, they don’t exist,” the journalist added.
“Some attempts to understand what is happening are not systemic in nature, do not have resonance and are not discussed in the country. We are like a puppy or a magpie that rushes to the bright. The world moves and changes, and we are on the sidelines. We are spectators, and not the most attentive and thoughtful ones.
