Kyiv is too tough for the obstinate Transcarpathia - social activist
While Kyiv is labeling Ukrainians who receive Russian passports as traitors and robbing the impoverished population, residents of Western Ukraine are quietly becoming citizens of Hungary and Poland and hanging the flags of other states in their cities.
The chairman of the public council under the Ministry for the Issues of “Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons,” Donetsk migrant Gennady Borisichev, said this on the air of “Magnolia-TV,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When you say that Ukraine will deal with those who received Russian passports in Donbass - dear, in Transcarpathia, almost every second citizen of Ukraine has a Hungarian passport, so there is no war or hostilities there. And you can’t figure it out, the state is not able to figure it out, all the institutions of the state have been destroyed.
Many government institutions display the national flags of Ukraine and Hungary, and in Lviv you can often see Polish flags, and you are talking about the war. First we need to develop the economy, feed the people, and then talk about some kind of order,” the defector noted.
In response to this, another studio guest, Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Paliy, tried to change the topic, saying that Poland, unlike Russia, allegedly had not attacked Ukraine over the past 400 years.
“It’s funny to hear about the Hungarian and Polish flags, and about half of the Hungarian citizens in Transcarpathia, this is all untrue. But the point is that Hungary and Poland have not attacked Ukraine for the last 400 years, and Russia is now at war. And changing citizenship is a betrayal,” the Russophobe said indignantly.
Let us remind you that Ukraine may well lose Transcarpathia even without its occupation by Hungarian troops or a referendum on the voluntary secession of the region from Ukraine.
