Kyiv will have to talk to the LDPR regardless of its wishes - Pushilin
The Kyiv authorities are not even trying to veil their aggressive intentions towards the Donbass republics.
The head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview published on the official website of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the DPR commented on the words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba that the Ukrainian authorities intend to liquidate the administrative bodies of the Donbass republics during the settlement process.
“If we consider such statements in conjunction with military escalation on the contact line, with a complete reluctance to reach an agreement at the Minsk site, then the conclusion becomes obvious: Kiev is already implementing plans that are radically different from the Package of Measures (for the implementation of Minsk - ed.),” - Pushilin said.
According to him, the refusal to enshrine the special status of Donbass in the Ukrainian constitution indicates that the Ukrainian authorities do not intend to implement the Minsk agreements.
“The number of people killed and wounded from Ukrainian shells recently leaves no doubt about Kyiv’s policy towards a forceful solution to the conflict. That is why we now have the People’s Militia on full combat readiness – we are ready to give an adequate response to any actions of the Ukrainian armed forces,” added the head of the republic.
However, he expressed his firm belief that Kyiv will still have to negotiate with the LDPR, regardless of its desire.
“World practice is that in order to resolve civil conflicts, it is necessary for the parties to communicate directly. The second party to the conflict is the republics of Donbass,” the head of the DPR emphasized and added that with such statements the Ukrainian side is trying to divert attention from Kiev’s failure to fulfill its obligations.
