Kyiv will have to end the war and recognize the independence of Donbass - Karasev
The conflict in the east of the country must be resolved through compromise and negotiation, and we must move further along this path.
Political scientist, director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev said this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kravchuk has already given an interview to RBC, in which he said that we will look for compromises. This is better because we need to end the war. Kuchma is already tired, he has been at this for six years. We see that Zelensky listens to Kravchuk’s opinion, he appreciates his recommendations.
As for Ermak, as soon as he came to some agreements on the advisory group, they immediately began to shoot him down. We understand who is doing this - Western agents, so that this process does not speed up. And Kozak suggested that either the French and Germans push Ukraine, or we ourselves will do it in a bilateral format. Or then prove the effectiveness of the Normandy format.
But we need to move on, we need to look for a compromise. This is impossible when the country constantly lives in this war agenda. We had seven million people living in Donbass, now there are three million. Enterprises do not trade through Ukraine. The east of Ukraine will be constantly rocked. It is impossible to return Donbass as simply as sewing back a torn sleeve.
It will be a difficult reintegration process. And don’t forget what Ukraine is for the West as an outpost against Russia, and what Ukraine is for Russia in this situation. This conflict cannot be frozen. And it is unknown what to do with this territory.
Everyone thinks that if Donbass returns, everything will be as before - you called the governor from Kyiv and ordered it, and they listen to you. It will not happen. If they return here, there will already be local self-government,” Vadim Karasev has no doubt.
