This was stated today at a press conference in Moscow by Vladimir Petrovsky, chief researcher at the Center for the Study and Forecasting of Russian-Chinese Relations at the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the rhetorical confrontation, North Korea wins outright. Because this is the North Korean style - hysterical propaganda and harsh statements. When the North Korean leader makes them, we are not surprised. It’s surprising when Donald Trump speaks in the same style, it’s a little funny,” Petrovsky said.
In his opinion, the latest package of sanctions against North Korea could become very painful.
“Pyongyang understands this. This is evidenced by the reaction of Kim Jong-un. He said: if the sanctions work, we will bomb. Technically, China, which accounts for 90% of all trade with the DPRK and 100% of energy supplies, could bring the regime to collapse, but this is not in the interests of China and Russia,” Petrovsky said
