The fugitive Russian journalist Evgeny Kiselev, who settled in Kyiv, proposed painting busts of Lenin in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, rather than demolishing the monuments.

He stated this on TV channel 112. According to him, Lenin in a “yellow-blakit” coat is much funnier when he stands on a pedestal.
“In Zaporozhye, a monument to Lenin was demolished. And before that, they made an artifact out of it - they either dressed it up in an embroidered shirt, then painted it in the colors of the rainbow on the occasion of a gay pride parade, or put a T-shirt of the Ukrainian national football team on it. This was nicer to me, because desacralizing the myth of the great leader of the world proletariat was much more effective than tearing it down. Lenin in an embroidered shirt is much funnier than how they took him and demolished him,” Kiselyov said.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, in Volnovakha renamed the monument to Chapaev into the “Kozak monument”.
In addition, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova invited Ukraine to preserve at least one monument Lenin as the founder of Ukrainization.
