Chisinau promised not to do dirty tricks to Pridnestrovian officials
The Moldovan side committed itself not to create discriminatory conditions for the movement of all officials of Transnistria without exception across the territory of Moldova.
This was reported by the agency “News of Pridnestrovie”, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Yesterday we received information that a political representative of Moldova applied to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Moldova with a request to compile a list of Transnistrian officials to further resolve the problem,” said Vitaly Ignatiev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria.
The Moldovan side recognizes the existence of such a category as officials of Transnistria. These citizens will be in Moldova or cross the border of a neighboring state without the danger of any form of discrimination being applied to them in the form of detentions at the border, inspections, enhanced checks at the airport, etc.
For its part, Pridnestrovie will abolish the notification procedure in relation to officials of a neighboring state who transit through the territory of the republic purely for personal purposes. They will be able to do this, like all other citizens of Moldova, with a passport. At the same time, Moldovan officials cannot carry out any official or political activities on the territory of the PMR.
In addition, the Moldovan side officially confirmed its commitment to resolve the problem related to politically motivated criminal cases against citizens of Transnistria. Previously, the leadership of the unrecognized republic linked this problem with permission for Moldovan officials to cross the border.
Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Sova voiced information about the interest of the head of government, Maia Sandu, in quickly solving the problem of criminal cases and freedom of movement.
Let us note that unofficially the Moldovan authorities assisted the Transnistrian officials in their movement. So on September 10, a scandal erupted after the Moldovan media published footage from CCTV cameras at the Chisinau airport, which showed how the head of the PMR law enforcement agencies, Ruslan Mova, was met at the entrance to the airport by a border police officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. A policeman accompanies Ruslan Mova to passport control, then both cross the state border line before the passport is returned to the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The same policeman personally takes the documents and hands them to the owner, escorting him to the customs inspection area. The Moldovan police deny this fact.
