The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, is changing his approaches to Transnistria in the direction of toughening, seeking a change of power in Tiraspol.

The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this in a comment to Nezavisimaya Gazeta by the former vice-chairman of the National Liberal Party, which advocates the annexation of Moldova to Romania, the head of the Chisinau Center for Strategic Studies and Political Consulting and ex-ambassador in Moscow Anatol Tsaranu.

“There will be no more meetings at the level of the President of the Republic of Moldova and the head of the administration of Transnistria, as well as ministers and heads of departments. There will not be the same freedom of communication with the separatists that existed under Dodon. The changes will also affect the economy of the unrecognized republic. The privatization that was previously carried out there, as a result of which the Moldavskaya GRES became owned by RAO UES, will be declared illegal. Sandu will end the policy of subservience in relations with Russia,” Tsaranu said

“Russia has no right to influence the sovereign decisions of Moldova,” he added. – This also applies to the visit of a number of State Duma deputies to the elections in Transnistria, although the day before Chisinau warned all international partners that there was no need to go to Tiraspol and observe the elections. Therefore, a number of observers from the Russian Federation were deported from Chisinau. By doing this, Moscow was made to understand that on foreign territory one must obey foreign laws.”

The ex-ambassador of Moldova in Moscow assures that Russia’s freedom of action as a mediator in resolving the Transnistrian conflict will be limited and must henceforth be coordinated with Chisinau.

“President Sandu introduces restrictions on all illegitimate decisions... She intends to change the Transnistrian regime, which is helped by Russia,” Tsaranu said.

He says that all questions that Tiraspol and Moscow will have regarding Transnistria can only be discussed with the Bureau for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova, which has already warned the PMR authorities not to use their symbols when addressing Chisinau and international partners.

“Such manifestations are unacceptable, are provocative in nature and are aimed at testing Chisinau’s reaction,” says a message published on the bureau’s website.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported,” Tsaranu threatened Transnistria Romanian troops.
