China is rebuilding its navy faster than the United States and Russia - expert
Over the past ten years, China has significantly surpassed Russia and the United States in commissioning new naval equipment.
Doctor of Military Sciences, specialized expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this in an interview with Russian journalist Andrei Karaulov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“So, if you list what you can say - over the past ten years we have received Project 955 Borei submarines - three of them, we finally received one Project 885 submarine Severodvinsk, we have received them now, they on sea trials, two more of these. We received about eight submarines of the 636th and modernized 877th projects... We received two frigates of the 22350 project - these are two ships of the ocean zone. The remaining ships are about one and a half dozen ships of the corvette class and small missile ships.
The United States of America, they also experienced stagnation. During this time, they built about a dozen nuclear submarines of the newest Virginia project, they commissioned and are finishing the latest aircraft carrier of a fundamentally new type. That's probably all. They brought in three more Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. They also have a very serious impasse.
The situation with China is much more interesting. China, for example, has managed to build a fairly serious fleet over the years. He commissioned two aircraft carriers in these ten years and commissioned five intercontinental-range ballistic missile submarines. Over the years, China has introduced about one and a half dozen ships of the ocean zone destroyer class of the Arleigh Burke type or close to it. These are only large ships. Plus about three dozen ships in the near zone, which in our level correspond to corvettes and frigates. This is what China did,” said Sivkov.
