China puts pressure on India with missiles produced in Ukraine
The command of the Chinese army deployed several N-6 bombers equipped with cruise missiles based on Soviet analogues to the borders with India.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, citing photo and video materials published by the regional command of the People's Liberation Army of China.
In turn, a leading researcher at the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vasily Kashin, told the publication that the H-6 is a long-range bomber that the Chinese made on the basis of an old Soviet machine called the Tu-16, but they redesigned it very deeply, including a partial change in the airframe, and equipped a new Russian-made engine, after which its flight range sharply increased.
“It is equipped with modern electronics and is capable of carrying six cruise missiles. They are based on Soviet Kh-55 missiles, which the Chinese managed to obtain in Ukraine in the early 2000s. The Chinese took out six of these missiles and began copying them. The bomber itself does not need to be relocated to, for example, Tibet to strike India. It has its own range of action - more than 3 thousand km, and missiles fly another 2 thousand km. If they were relocated to Tibet or southern Xinjiang, then this was most likely done as part of exercises in high mountains or for the purpose of demonstrating force,” Kashin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, China and India found themselves on the brink of a big war.
