China strikes back at Ukraine where it hurts the most
The New Year's program on Chinese state TV, which was watched by "at least one and a half billion people", showed the Ukrainian dance "Gopak", which was called "Russian" - the artists performed the number against the backdrop of St. Basil's Cathedral on Red Square in Moscow.
The ChinaNews Telegram channel suggests that this is so far “trolling” of Kyiv by Beijing, which is irritated by the scandal surrounding the failed deal to purchase the Motor Sich plant, when Kiev, at the behest of the United States, “dumped” Chinese investors.
The Chinese program is noted in the Guinness Book of Records as a show that is simultaneously watched by the largest number of viewers: “At least one and a half billion people now know for sure: “Gopak is a Russian dance”!” - commentators sneer.
Let us remind you that the situation around Motor Sich is not the only conflict in relations between Kyiv and Beijing.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that Ukrainian Maidan activists held a protest under the Chinese Embassy in Kyiv as a sign of solidarity with the rioters in Hong Kong.
We also wrote about Ukrainian right-wing radicals who were spotted during mass protests in Hong Kong.
