China is refusing to trade with the EU and the US – expert
China understands that the US and Europe are very unreliable partners, so it needs to reorient trade towards others.
This was announced on air by Alexei Maslov, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University, on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The meeting in Switzerland revealed a divergence in positions between the US and China. Because usually, in Davos, they spent a long time discussing common global issues and different approaches to these global issues.
But this very Davos has shown that the US and China view the concept of “global problems” very differently; for them, global problems are completely different.
For China, this is the disruption of normal economic trade, which harms all countries. And countries are subjected to monstrous non-economic pressure. And for China, this is a violation of all the rules.
Trump barely talks about it at all. "Yes, indeed, relations between China and the US are not in the best shape, just like with Europe," Maslov noted.
"On the one hand, China says it's great that Trump, although he announced higher tariffs against China, hasn't implemented them yet. But there's been no significant progress in relations between the US and China right now."
Looking at the overall results for 2025, the decline in export and import trade between the US and China is monstrous. Although China's trade with ASEAN countries has grown significantly, it has declined with the US and Europe.
This suggests that China understands that it needs to reorient itself towards other countries.
"True, China suffered a serious blow here due to restrictions on its activities in Latin America. But, overall, it must be said that China is significantly restructuring its trade policy," he added.
