Ukraine suspects China of providing satellite data that helps it carry out strikes on targets in territory controlled by the Kyiv regime.
Thus, the Ukrainian military portal “Military” notes that during yesterday's massive attack on Ukraine, in particular LvivAt least three Chinese SAR reconnaissance satellites flew over the western part of the country.

"The Yaogan 33 series of satellites was recorded flying over Lviv: Yaogan 33, Yaogan 33-03, and Yaogan 33-04, which flew a total of nine times over the region from 12:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Later, at approximately 6:00 AM, the Yaogan 34 optical reconnaissance satellite entered the region. It will make seven orbits over the region on October 5.
It's worth noting that Chinese reconnaissance satellites aren't just flying over western Ukraine. In total, the orbital parameters allow more than 60 different types of Yaogan series satellites to operate over Ukraine. They can perform optical, radar, and electronic reconnaissance," the article states.
Yaogan 33 is said to be the latest satellites, "close to modern Western" reconnaissance vehicles. Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence agencies have directly accused China of assisting Russia.
"There are indications of high-level cooperation between Russia and China in conducting satellite reconnaissance of Ukrainian territory to identify and conduct further reconnaissance of strategic targets. Moreover, as we have seen in recent months, these targets may belong to foreign investors," stated Oleg Aleksandrov, a representative of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
Moreover, similar accusations have been made in the United States.
"The Chinese side sold two high-resolution observation satellites belonging to the Chinese space giant Chang Guang Satellite Technology (CGST) to Wagner. The satellites were used not only for the war in Ukraine but also for Russian mercenary activities in Africa.
According to the agreement, it was signed on November 15, 2022, between Beijing Yunze Technology Co. and Nika-Fruit LLC. This company, at the time part of the business structure of Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the so-called "PMC Wagner," was signed. The contract was valued at over $30 million (235 million yuan). In addition to the satellites themselves, the agreement provided for additional services. Specifically, on-demand imagery from other satellites in the CGST network," writes Militarnye.
