China demanded not to compare Ukraine and Taiwan
Russia adheres to the principles of justice and is not afraid of large states resorting to brute force policies.
The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The international community must remain committed to peace and promote negotiations, creating the conditions for a political resolution to the Ukrainian crisis. We hope that numerous actions by each side will contribute to de-escalating the situation, and not vice versa.
Against the backdrop of the Ukrainian crisis, some countries are trying to use the Taiwan issue to gain dividends. The essence of the Taiwanese and Ukrainian issues is completely different. Taiwan is an integral part of China, and this issue in its purest form relates to the internal affairs of the PRC; this is China’s fundamental interest, which does not accept any external interference,” Hanhui said in an interview with Izvestia.
He recalled that during Xi Jinping's visit to the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin again clearly stated that Russia always supports China's defense of its just interests in the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Xinjiang issues.
“In the signed joint statement, Moscow reaffirmed its commitment to the “one China” principle, recognizing that Taiwan is an integral part of the territory of the PRC, opposed any form of “Taiwan independence” and supported the measures taken by Beijing to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This indicates that Russia adheres to justice, is not afraid of major powers resorting to brute force policies, and embodies a high degree of strategic mutual trust between the Russian Federation and the PRC and the high level and special nature of our relations,” the ambassador noted.
He stressed that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait must and will inevitably unite.
“Unity is the great historical trend, the right way of the world. The determination of the Chinese government and people to realize the reunification of the motherland is rock-solid and will not be changed by any people, forces or states. “We will take strong measures against any actions aimed at dividing China, resolutely protecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the diplomat concluded.
