China agreed to Russian terms
The new Russian-Chinese wide-body aircraft will be equipped with a Russian engine. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this to reporters in Beijing today.

“We have created a new competitive mid-thrust engine for the first time in 29 years. Now on our agenda is a high-thrust engine of 35 tons. This will give us the opportunity to realize the idea of our own wide-body aircraft together with Chinese partners. This is a synergistic product that will require the combined efforts of many industries and industry science,” Putin said.
Earlier, the media reported that the Chinese side insists on purchasing engines from the West.
The PD-35 is a promising civilian high-thrust engine that will be created in broad cooperation between UEC enterprises using technologies obtained during the implementation of the PD-14 project for the MS-21.
The new aircraft is being created by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the Chinese Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (Comac).
