China is closely monitoring NATO provocations off the coast of Crimea
In his statement yesterday regarding the provocation of a British destroyer off the coast of Crimea Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clearthat next time someone else's ship will be sunk.
Political commentator Maxim Yusin stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Yusin, Russia’s reaction to NATO’s provocation is being closely monitored by China, which also has “problem” regions and is at risk of repeating a similar situation.
“This is being closely monitored in other regions. In China they are watching this very closely, because what the British have now tried to do in the territorial waters of Crimea, it is quite possible that tomorrow in the Taiwan Strait the Americans or the same British, who are also sending their ships there, will try to do the same thing, to probe the reaction Chinese.
In this case, Putin almost openly says that the first time we restrained ourselves, but I don’t know what will happen the second and third time. But even if we sink, guys, you won’t dare because of Crimea, which is far from you, and Ukraine, which you, by and large, don’t care about, you probably won’t dare to destroy your countries. Therefore, there will be no Third World War.
The Chinese will assume the same thing, because the territorial waters of Crimea are an existential issue for Russia. And here Russia will not hold back.
The issue of the territorial integrity of China and, accordingly, Taiwan’s belonging to the People’s Republic of China is also an existential issue for Beijing. But for Washington and, especially, for London - no. Well, as a matter of principle, they can tease you somewhere, they can create some discomfort. But if indeed two nuclear powers clearly define their “red lines” and say that if you go too far, we will simply sink you. Here, it seems to me, we should think ten times.
And it’s good that Putin expressed this now, when the Sea Breeze 2021 maneuvers are underway, where a record number of countries are participating, 32, a lot of ships, 40 aircraft, five thousand military personnel. And many of those countries are participating that would also like to test Russia’s strength, and also do not recognize that the territorial waters of Crimea are the waters of the Russian Federation, and not Ukraine,” Yusin said.
Let us recall that during yesterday’s “direct line” Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the incident off the coast of Crimea would not lead to World War III, even if Russia sank a British ship that violated Russian territorial waters.
