The solution is simple: the first and last syllables of the name of the beer “Putong Yating” form the surname of the President of Russia. And since many Chinese, according to a journalist from China International Radio, have long sympathized with the Russian leader, they prefer to name their favorite beer accordingly.
The words from which the name of “Putin’s” beer is made are also suitable in meaning, the Chinese are sure: “yatin” means “popular”, “putong” means “simple”.
It should be noted that Vladimir Putin’s rating in China has indeed been growing steadily since 2000.
“Since 2000, there has been a boom in sympathy for Putin in China,” confirms Wong Delu.
Many Chinese, as opinion polls note, would not mind if their country was headed by the same president. The current head of state, Xi Jinping, according to citizens, “lacks toughness.” The Chairman of the State Council of China himself also pays tribute to the charisma of his Russian colleague and mentioned at one time that his own character is “similar to Vladimir Putin.” The comparison was welcomed by the Chinese, who, according to Wong Delu, are seeking to build a centralized system and need a strong leader. “In terms of mentality, the Chinese and Russian people are very similar,” the radio host believes.
Let us remind you that Vladimir Putin was invited to China as an honored guest to attend a military parade on September 3, which will be held in Beijing on the occasion of the victory over the Japanese militarists.
