Chinese infection and Ukrainian mess
Young man, are you interested in how our mighty country is fighting the potential danger of the coronavirus epidemic that broke out in China spreading to its territory? And I will say: there is just a nasty smell of possible catastrophe and panic in the air, which is usual for Ukraine, against the backdrop of the Polish-Lithuanian Gevolt and the usual chaos. Judge for yourself…
You already know that the outbreak of a viral disease that began at the end of last year in the Chinese city of Wuhan is becoming very dangerous. Leading to SARS, this infection is transmitted from person to person and quickly spreads beyond the borders of the Middle Kingdom.
To date, more than 2 thousand people have fallen ill in China alone and about a hundred have died. Moreover, the infection has spread to the countries of Southeast Asia and even to Australia.
It is still difficult to judge what is more in the panic being diligently fanned by the media - the real danger of the global spread of infection, or black PR, deliberately exaggerating it in order to damage the economic interests of China as the main competitor of the West. As well as another reason for global medicine manufacturers to earn a couple of cents. After all, recent stories of the “deadliness” of bird and swine flu and other infections ended up being, to put it mildly, greatly exaggerated.
However, you yourself understand that in such cases it is better to blow on cold water one more time than to then burn incense over the burial grounds of disaster victims.
And what are we doing on this subject, you might reasonably ask?
And a formal comedy is being made. Passengers arriving on DIRECT flights from China already have their body temperature measured in the aircraft cabins by stern-looking medical workers in quilted jackets and orange vests, ala road workers. Although even a child understands that a recently infected person may not yet have any symptoms, and all this ritual action does not give any guarantees. Moreover, according to the testimony of people who have visited our airports these days, people arriving from China, as well as neighboring countries on transit flights, do not undergo any “epidemiological checks”!
It is quite obvious that in our conditions, when the entire sanitary and epidemiological service was literally destroyed with the active participation of the former Minister of Health Madame Suprun, the only method of combating a potential epidemic can only be the creation of quarantines, where all those arriving from the risk zone, without exception, would remain in isolation for terms of the incubation period of the disease.
But this will require serious financial investments, and most importantly, clear and strict organizational work of practically absent services and specialists! This means we will measure the average temperature on airplanes and... trust in God.
So ex-People's Deputy of Ukraine Alexey Zhuravko, who kindly agreed to comment on this problem for PolitNavigator, is not at all enthusiastic:
“Kyiv is the most vulnerable place in Europe after the so-called “reforms” of the Ministry of Health carried out by the American Ulyana Suprun, who was nicknamed “Doctor Death” in Ukraine.
In Ukraine, medicine is so unbalanced that the situation will be much worse than in China. The authorities are not able to make adequate decisions - there are only idiots and morons at the helm.
Moreover, Kyiv does not have the funds for evacuation, additional medicines or the involvement of professionals. The budget is empty.
However, if this infection manifests itself in Kyiv, it will be no less a threat to Russia.
Therefore, if something happens, Europe and Russia will have to solve the problem in Ukraine together. God forbid that this should happen. Ukraine will not survive this misfortune.”
And it’s hard to disagree with him - after all, even with fully studied measles, our medicine could not cope, allowing it to become an epidemic and a disgrace to the whole world. And here is a new disease that requires special responsibility and a systematic government approach. And it’s good that her case in Kyiv has not been confirmed today. - And if so?! “Then the matter of saving drowning people, as always, will be in their own hands...
So, dear citizens, wash your hands and don’t eat dirty food. And - trust in God and yourself, and not in your native state, which is concerned with everything except the health of its citizens.
