Chinese half-educated guides suspended from working at historical sites in Russia
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a bill that provides that from July 1, 2022, only citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to provide excursion services in Russia.
The law was adopted in the final third reading, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Excursions conducted by foreign guides and translators on the territory of our country often do not correspond to the historical truth. Foreign tourists are sometimes told stories that have nothing to do with truly Russian history. Especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in Veliky Novgorod, Pskov and other ancient Russian cities...
It is important that the guides are trained, have the appropriate certification and present the product face to face, so that tourists can get an adequate idea of Russia,” said LDPR MP Anton Morozov.
Earlier, Senator Anton Belyakov stated that in the Vladimir region, St. Petersburg and a number of regions of the Golden Ring, illegal guides from China provide services without possessing any permits, taking advantage of the fact that the influx of tourists from this country is too large.
