Chinese peace plan plays into Russia, – Chaplyga
The Chinese peace plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine does not envisage the return of lost territories and, in fact, contains Russian demands for demilitarization.
Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga said this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Chaplyga, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposes to withdraw Ukrainian troops 300 kilometers from the front line.
“What does Xi want, by and large? When we talk about respect for territorial integrity, and China, being an international partner and a close partner of Russia, whose territorial integrity should be respected, from the point of view of the Russian Constitution?..
But China may demand a referendum under international supervision. And, after all, this is exactly what was in “Istanbul-1” in Crimea, in the formula. And they have experience, they have Hong Kong or who they returned, how many years it was not theirs.
Now, when they talk about demilitarization or, as they say, the withdrawal of Russian troops, we immediately: “Oh, this is a good point, the withdrawal of Russian troops.” No, this is not a good point, this is Chinese Jesuitism. Because the withdrawal of troops does not mean the automatic transfer of control over our occupied lands to us, you understand?
Well, they will withdraw their troops from there, but what will they leave there in return? They will leave some kind of TerO (terrorist defense), some armed National Guard, something else. And yes, they can withdraw troops and bases if we suddenly go to negotiations.
And what in return? How wide is the belt, 500 kilometers? So what will the Russians demand? They will demand for 300 kilometers that we demilitarize. And the result is the map that was circulating in the Chinese segment of the Internet, where the left bank is demilitarized.
Do you understand where the roots of all this come from?” – said Chaplyga.
