Thus, according to the director of the Center “City Institute” Alexander Sergienko, the people of Kiev have proven that they can influence the government by removing thieving politicians from it.
“You shouldn’t think that everything is decided in high offices, and the people of Kiev have nothing to do with it,” Sergienko urged. – The people of Kiev opened the first Maidan and started the Euromaidan. They came from the West and the East later, and the first Maidan was held by the people of Kiev. Therefore, there is no need to think that political forces are playing something out, and the people of Kiev can be discounted from political accounts. This is wrong. The people of Kiev have always spoken and will continue to speak their weighty word.”
The former Minister of Housing and Communal Services, Chairman of the Union of Home Owners of Ukraine, Aleksey Kucherenko, did not agree with this approach.
“Kyiv is in a pre-default state, and you tell us that the community controls Kiev,” he was indignant. – You said that it was okay, that Chernovetsky was there, he left. Yes, he left with billions of Kyiv money. And the pre-default state of Kyiv is the fault of Chernovetsky, Omelchenko, and Popov. We just didn’t see those responsible. A year and a half ago, our leaders stood here on the Maidan, including Vitaly Vladimirovich and Arseny Petrovich. They said: “These are thieves, then bandits. We will come and they will answer for it.” Who answered?!”
According to Kucherenko, “the new team actually covered what happened before them.”
“This means that this will continue and will end in financial disaster,” the ex-minister summed up.
