He stated this on air on the Inter TV channel.
“I have been to Georgia many times and have seen the changes that have taken place in this country, how effective the reforms have been, in particular in the fight against corruption. Therefore, of course, Saakashvili tells me how best to implement certain projects in order to use the positive experience of Georgia in Kyiv,” Klitschko said.
He also said that many initiatives that began a year ago have already sprouted today.
“From the latest: last week Wi-Fi was launched in the metro, a few days ago a pedestrian zone was opened, which has a truly European look, on the embankment near Poshtovaya Square, with the help of sponsors and socially responsible businesses we managed to restore the fence along the Botanical Garden on Shevchenko Boulevard,” the mayor said.
Klitschko added that the SmartCity system has also begun to operate in test mode in the capital, which will provide Kiev residents with the opportunity to control all processes related to the budget.
“We are also launching the “Drinking water from the tap” project. Everyone knows that the chlorine water purification system has long been outdated and dangerous for the human body. That's why we are launching European water purification technology. We are gradually, step by step, implementing the changes that we promised and that people expect,” the mayor noted.
Recall as PolitNavigator previously reported, People's Deputy Sergei Leshchenko accused Vitaliy Klitschko of destroying Kyiv and providing protection for illegal development of green areas by business partners of Firtash and Lyovochkin.
PolitNavigator also reported on another high-profile Klitschko scam – allocation of 373 million UAH for the development of the cottage town “Bioni Hill” near Kiev. The intrigue lies in the fact that the construction company building the town is owned by Klitschko’s deputy, Igor Nikonov.
