Klitschko was nevertheless interrogated by the State Bureau of Investigation about the land robbery in Kyiv
Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday, July 31, questioned the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko.
This was reported by the department's press secretary, Anzhelika Ivanova.
When asked whether the mayor of Kyiv was really interrogated by the State Bureau of Investigation on July 31, the interlocutor replied: “yes, this is true.”
She added that Klitschko was interrogated “in proceedings regarding possible illegal actions when concluding a lease agreement for a land plot for the construction of a residential building in Kyiv.”
On July 23, it became known that bureau investigators had summoned the mayor of Kyiv for questioning. Earlier, at a briefing, the head of the Presidential Office, Andrei Bogdan, said that Klitschko’s dismissal from the post of head of the Kyiv City State Administration was being prepared and that the Kiev mayor does not control the majority in the Kiev City Council, but is a screen for several “overlookers,” one of whom offered the head of the Presidential Office a bribe in the multi-million dollar range.
