According to him, the Syretsko-Pecherskaya metro line currently has a length of 25,6 km with 16 stations and can be extended through the construction of a 10,5 km section with six stations for the construction of transport interchanges in the area of Belitsky and Mostitsky residential areas , the first stage of which 4 km to the Prospekt Pravdy station can be built at the end of 2019.
“Today we have already completed a feasibility study, which is at the stage of undergoing examination, in which 3 routing options are proposed. I would like to emphasize that this decision will allow us to download the green metro line, which today operates at 60% of its capacity, and relieve the overloaded red metro line, which today operates at the limit of its capacity,” said Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Ilya Sagaidak.
“We must take into account that the terminal station on Shevchenko Square will allow all commuter passengers from Akademgorodok to be redirected to the terminal of the green line, where it is possible to conveniently arrange transport infrastructure with parking lots, a bus station and a convenient interchange,” the official added.
