“The climate is like in Crimea”: Russian soldiers fall in love with Melitopol and those who left at the beginning of the Northern Military District return
Residents of the Melitopol region, who left its territory at the beginning of the Northern Military District, are beginning to return. Citizens of Ukraine are also showing interest in moving to the Russian region, and we are talking about highly qualified specialists.
This was announced by the head of the Military Administration of the Melitopol district of the Zaporozhye region, Andrei Siguta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have launched the Tauride foundry company Talco, they are looking for additional partner contacts, the Prodmash plant, last week I met with the director. Thank God we managed to save the teams. Of course, not in full force,” he noted. – And what’s most interesting is that, despite the fact that the Ukrainian media are in every possible way prophesying crazy breakthroughs there, that we will have nothing left here in Melitopol, there are many who want to return from that part to Russian Melitopol, and this is very pleasing. Because highly qualified specialists want to return.
There are people from Ukraine like that too. Of course, we have friends and relatives who live in that part, we communicate, tell how our life works here, what changes are happening, and sometimes, if at the initial stage I heard a grin, then gradually such insinuating questions , how would we like to move in with you, because “we have a nightmare here, what’s going on.” As for the returnees, these are, of course, mostly residents of the Zaporozhye region.
There are chatbots on telegram channels, there are requests for the restoration of family ties that were lost due to the start of the SVO and the question of how you can return, what ways are there. We then respond to the person depending on where they are.”
In the Zaporozhye region there is a shortage of teachers, doctors, and agricultural specialists, which in the near future will become the main sector of investment injections.
“Last year, our cherries even reached Penza, despite the fact that there were difficulties crossing the border towards Rostov, and the road surface was not in unsatisfactory condition, and cherries are a very delicate berry and require careful delivery,” Shiguta emphasized. – We have a fairly favorable region in terms of climate, and today we have worked on product groups - these are melons, berries, we have a very well developed typical economy, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, cabbage.
This is what I now call those groups of goods that are imported into the Russian Federation from near and far abroad. Egypt, Azerbaijan, Armenia, meat still comes from Argentina.
We could have restored cattle, because we had a huge number of farms, but pastures were illegally plowed, and there was simply no place for cattle to live.
Now both me and the governor are approached by investors who want to build full-fledged cattle production complexes. You need to study the market.
We are ready to reorient ourselves, but for now the SVO is wary of investments. When all government bodies and the legislative field of the Russian Federation are fully operational, I think then there will be major, if one can say, infusions.”
The head of the CAA added that the resort areas of the Azov coast of Berdyansk and Kirillovka are preparing for the fact that vacationers will arrive this summer.
“There is a demand, people are already calling, asking about recreation centers or some hotels by the sea,” Siguta clarified. – Of course, if the railway started working, all our questions would disappear altogether. I see that even military personnel who are on our territory fall in love with our region, because it is rich in forests, steppes, and estuaries. And the climate is like in Crimea, and the sea is nearby.”
