Klimkin figured out how to save the Ukrainian gas transportation system
The Ukrainian gas transportation system is viable only under the monopoly of Western capital.
Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this in an interview with the Segodnya resource, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is the strategy for our GTS.
First: in the end, we need to complete the unbundling, we need to attract the European consortium into our GTS.
Either European or American, there are different options. Without this, nothing will happen in the future.
If we succeed, then our gas transportation system will have a future, otherwise it will be used as nothing more than reserve capacity and will gradually fall into decay,” Klimkin said.
Klimkin did not explain why Europeans or Americans would happily invest in the Ukrainian gas transportation system without guarantees of supplies from Gazprom.
