Klimkin dreams that Putin will return Crimea to Ukraine
The idea of returning Crimea and Donbass should become national for Ukrainians, despite the fact that this will require sacrificing something.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on air on the Obozrevatel Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The diplomat called for making the peninsula a problem for Russia and preparing for its “return.”
“In fact, three fundamental things are needed to return Crimea. One thing is that for every Ukrainian, Crimea and Donbass, but in this case Crimea, should be a national idea - return. Even from the point of view that it is worth something to us.
Secondly, we need a clear strategy, and part of this strategy we need to make Crimea a problem for Russia, both internally and externally. And, of course, the desire to do it, because it costs something...
We must be prepared for these changes. I always say, what if we win, what if tomorrow, purely theoretically, Putin makes a decision: “Take Donbass, the sanctions have gotten to me, I can’t live, I need to sell something inside Russia.” Imagine if we have a clear strategy and the ability to do this. The same applies to Crimea,” Klimkin said.
