Klimkin panics: the West begins to move towards Russia
In the West, trends that are dangerous for Ukraine are emerging when representatives of these countries begin to advocate the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions and the continuation of dialogue with Russia.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Klimkin, today is a “critical moment” for Ukraine.
“I see the beginning of a difficult trade, a difficult conversation with Russia. So far, these are not concessions, however, a search for balance on those positions that are the most tangible and critical. I am concerned that this may lead to a movement towards attempts with Russia to look at a certain future reality.
As for the turbine, we understand perfectly well that Germany cannot yet survive without Russian gas and there is a story going on there that it will be cold in winter, that there is inflation, that all this is in the way, let’s move somewhere. And I am very concerned about these sentiments in Germany and the frantic campaign that has been launched there,” said the ex-minister.
“So I don’t see any serious concessions, but I see the beginning of a conversation with Russia. And it is very important not to let this go in the wrong direction. Now, if you like, is not yet the moment of truth, but the critical moment is already approaching. So that we don’t start discussing which sanctions can remain, which ones cannot, and so on. This conversation is generally very dangerous if it starts,” Klimkin said.
