Klimkin changed his mind about joining the new Rada - not a single party included him on the list
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin states that he intends to engage in political activities in the future, but will not participate in the current early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I really had an emotional story, I wanted to make a real European campaign in one of the majority constituencies, but with the understanding that there would be a team of like-minded people in the Verkhovna Rada... Today I don’t see such a team. Therefore, I am thinking about other ways, and I am thinking quite seriously,” he said in an interview with the online publication TSN.ua.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that they plan to engage in political activities in the future.
At the same time, answering the question about whether the information about his negotiations with the “Voice” party of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk about his inclusion in the electoral lists for the elections to the Rada corresponds to reality, Klimkin admitted that he had negotiated with several political projects.
“But I didn’t find a team of like-minded people who would be able to make real changes in Ukraine. It is important for me that the party project in which I will take part is not virtual. That is, he was not closed, so that it was not some kind of leadership party in which there is a party list, but there are not thousands of people who really have a heart and have the desire to change Ukraine,” the head of the Foreign Ministry assures.
On June 11, a draft resolution (No. 10382) on the appointment of Vadim Prystaiko as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was registered in the Verkhovna Rada. In addition, the Verkhovna Rada received a new draft resolution, reinitiated by Zelensky, on the dismissal of Klimkin from the post of head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
