Klimkin promised a visa regime with the Russian Federation
Ukraine must close the border with Russia and establish a visa regime with this country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the minister, the border should be closed during wartime, and after that it is necessary to prohibit Russian citizens from visiting Ukraine without visas.
“In general, I think that the border should simply be closed at the stage of martial law. Close either for individual categories or completely. Secondly, I have said a lot that we need more than just a visa regime. This is what we have entered and what we have biometric data - stamping labels at the embassy into Russian passports is stupid. We need a normal biometric visa regime, how does it work. And we are moving towards it, otherwise it will not happen,” Klimkin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, after introduction of martial law Verkhovna Rada martial law, Ukrainian parliament, Ukrainian border guards began massively close entry into the country for citizens of the Russian Federation.
