Klimkin: The Ukraine project rests solely on the support of the West
The disclosure of the transcript of the conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, where the latter spoke unflatteringly about France and Germany for insufficient assistance to Ukraine, could have negative consequences for Kyiv. This development of events is extremely undesirable, because in 2014 the Ukraine project survived solely thanks to the help of the collective West, which was able to stop Russia.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Pershiy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a principle when you have friends. Many years ago they took me and tortured me: “Pavel, tell me, who are our best friends in the European Union, and who are not really friends?” I always said, "Goodbye." Friends are not called best or not best. When you start like this, you have no friends.
Here too: both Europe and the States over these five and a half years carried out their mission in very different ways, but fulfilled them.
We miss this mission. We lack their pressure, lack their sanctions, lack a tough position and many other things.
But we must remember that without them Putin would have gone much further. I’m telling you 100%, knowing this story,” Klimkin said.
Thank you!
