According to the minister, Ukraine also plans to strengthen its military presence on the coast and in the Azov Sea.

“Our actions should not be focused only on politics, only on security, only on legal issues. Only combining everything will work. Firstly, this is our military presence on the coast, anti-landing operations and further presence in the Sea of Azov. We must develop it. Without this, of course, we will not win. The second is what we do with our friends and partners. The third is legal actions,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

He said that Ukraine filed an arbitration claim against the Russian Federation under the Convention on the Law of the Sea.

“And the way we have to win it, everything will be very clear about what Russia is doing, the legal definition, and most importantly, what losses Russia must then compensate us for. Only putting it all together should work. We are now trying to concentrate our partners on ensuring that both politically and legally the Sea of Azov is recognized as an ordinary territorial sea,” Klimkin said.

Earlier, political scientist Sergei Mikheev said that the Sea of Azov must be recognized as territorial waters Russian Federation, so that Kyiv does not have the opportunity to organize provocations against Russian sailors.

In Kyiv they announced about the loss of control over the Sea of Azov since the Russian Federation began building a bridge across the Kerch Strait.
